I received the first month's kit from Little Passports for review last week and the girls have been busy "traveling" the world with their new suitcase, passport, and world map.
Big fans of imaginative play, the girls have loved imagining traveling to far away lands. The Eat Your Way Around the World cookbook I mentioned last week has also added to the international fun.
If you've been wondering about Little Passports, I thought I'd share our experience. It's a monthly subscription program and there are several options to choose from--a 3 month, 6 month, 12 month, and a monthly plan (where you sign up and then cancel at anytime.)
The first month you receive a suitcase (seen above) with a passport, some stickers, a world map, and some photos and a letter from Sam and Sophia (the kids who are traveling around the world and sharing their story with you.)
There is also a puzzle sheet and a code to use to login into the website and play more geography related games online.
Juliet LOVES it. She's at just the right age since she can read on her own and she can sit with a pencil and try to figure out the puzzles on the paper. She also loves toting the suitcase around the house and the passport looks extremely real. I think she'll enjoy placing stickers in it when they come from other countries.
I think this would be a fun thing for the summer and during the school year. Kids love getting mail and you could add to it as you wanted--by checking out books set in or about the country of the month, researching holidays, customs, wildlife, flags, etc. There are so many ways to go with this.
There is also a USA edition where Sam and Sophia visit two new states every month--if you are looking for US geography.
Have you ever signed up for Little Passports? How did your kids enjoy it?
