Bird book

March 20, 2013

In our search for great bird books, we came across Bird Egg Feather Nest and became completely obsessed with it. More than just a book about birds, this is a piece of art. In fact, we hardly read it, just soaked in all the images.

Can you see the tailor bird sewing up its nest in the image above? I had no idea that such a creature existed!
This page inspired us to make our own "bird menu" for the birds in our backyard. Juliet named her restaurant "Flamingo Cafe". (We don't have any flamingos around here, by the way, but they are the pinkest bird, and thus her favorite.)

Anyone else intrigued by feathers as much as we are? This page just captivated me. So much beauty and detail in each one.

We learned so much and enjoyed it so much, it was a sad day when we had to give it back to the library. I didn't take a photo, but the egg page inspired an egg project we did as well. I'll share that a little bit later.

Bird Egg Feather Nest is the perfect coffee table book--you could spend hours looking at it all.  Has anyone else ever seen this? What did you think?
