acorn ornaments early this season and I fell in love with them. After a fall of collecting acorns and even getting my mother in law to send us a fantastic stash from Ohio, you'd think we'd have plenty to spare for this activity.
But as luck would have it, our stash was raided by a very hungry squirrel (or two) just days before seeing the post and we were acorn-less.
I pinned the post and vowed to make them next fall when we had collected more acorns.
Happily, Ben's grandma had been collecting acorns for us (unbeknownst to us!) and sent them down over Thanksgiving. (Thanks, Nana!!)
We were so happy and of course, we sat down one afternoon and painted away! Juliet thought this was the most fun activity ever and asked if we could do it again and again.
The ornaments are hanging on our tree and they look quite lovely. We bought some metallic craft paint (on Robyn's suggestion) and found we liked it the best. (We also used regular non-metallic paint, but found it didn't cover as well.)
I suppose this is my last Christmas ornament post of the season! Did you make any fun ornaments this year? I'd love to hear about them!
