I shared the link to this printable weather station several weeks ago, but I wanted to share a photo of the one we actually made!

It turned out great, but I will say it took me quite a few naptimes to get it done. Maybe I am just a slow cutter or a bit too obsessive with the contact-paper laminating procedure, but it seemed the project would never end.

I'm glad to have it now to use in our classroom and the kids have had lots of fun giving weather reports which we record and send to the grandparents. Hooray for smart phones.

I asked my facebook page for suggestions of weather-themed books and Gail Gibbons name came up (of course it did!)

My library has had one of these titles and I had it on request for months until they finally told me it was LOST. sigh.

So now, I think I may have to buy one of these. Which, if any, do you recommend? Have any of you read these or have other weather related titles to suggest?

Weather Words and What They Mean

Weather Forecasting

I have to say, they all look good. That Hurricane one would be a perfect read this week with Sandy hitting the east coast.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on weather books and activities in general!
