Acorn turkey craft

November 22, 2012

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have a wonderful day with your families!

I thought I'd share a quick shot of the acorn turkeys we made this year. They were Juliet's idea. My mother-in-law had sent us a huge bag of bur oak acorns (they are really big!) and we spent an afternoon gluing feathers on them and turkey faces.

We left them out on the back porch to dry, but when we went out the next morning they were gone! Squirrels had removed the feathers and faces (we found the remains scattered over our lawn) and taken the giant acorns away to their dens. (Or where ever it is squirrels live!)

So, we had to start over with very tiny acorns. But they still look cute.

If we ever get our hands on bur oak acorns again, we will be sure not to leave them outside! :)

I'm thankful for all of you who read my blog--thank you for taking the time to stop by and read what I have to say!

Don't forget to get your copy of Truth in the Tinsel tomorrow if you want a set of the printable ornaments for free!
