new books for two year olds

October 10, 2012

I usually write about the books Juliet and I are reading, but now that Lucia is getting more and more into books, I will probably share some of her favorites, too.

Tiger Tales recently sent me a box of their fall review books and there were several titles that were perfect for two year olds. Here are our favorites.

Counting Birds was by far our favorite of all the books in the box. It's a counting book, but it each bird has it's own unique sound (that you get to say) every time you turn a page. At the end, a cat runs up the tree and scares all the birds away--which may have been the girls' favorite part. This board book is beautifully illustrated and would be such a great gift book.

One Windy Day is a fun fall book for little hands. Perfect for fall and we loved the gold foil used on the fall leaves.

Old Macdonald Had a Farm
I love books you can sing and this one is even better because it has many songs you can sing! This would be great for travel--it's got all the classics and is bright and easy to hold.

I Have a Brother and I Have a Sister are perfect little books if you have a young one who is soon going to have a little brother or sister. (Lucia is not, but she still liked the book because she loves babies). The only thing is that the brother one is about a big brother getting a little brother and the sister one is about a big sister getting a little sister.

Big Book of My World
This book will keep us busy for awhile! It has a so much to look at and talk about. I think it might be a great car book--she can look at it for a long time while we are driving around.

Have you read any of these? Have any other favorites you recommend for two year olds?

The books in this post were sent to me for review purposes. The opinions expressed are entirely my own.
