Hector and Prudence, by Brucce Koscielniak

I came across this book in the library a few weeks ago and fell in love. The illustrations are gorgeous and the story rings true to my life. It's just a celebration of the everyday joys and trials of parenthood.
Hector and Prudence, two pigs, settled down and raise a few piglets together. You can imagine how tiring 6 piggies can be on a parent. One evening they have a conversation after putting the kids to bed.

"They'll sleep right through tonight," said Prudence at the end of their long day.

"I hope so," said Hector, "I'm exhausted."

"Me too," said Prudence. "But I suppose it's just the way things are. Aren't you happy?"

"Of course I am," said Hector.

"I'm happy too." said Prudence.

I could totally relate. And Juliet could relate to the pigs jumping on the bed. :)
I always say that the perfect book is one that both children and parents can enjoy equally. This is definitely one of those books. I'd love to find a copy for our home library some day.
