A few months ago, I discovered this beautiful Baby Lit board book series. I went a little nuts over the Romeo and Juliet book, in particular. You might say I've had a bit of a hard time reminding myself that the book belongs to Juliet and not me....
I had received the Romeo and Juliet book as a review copy, but was so in love with the concept, I immediately ordered the Pride and Prejucide on amazon. A few days later, they emailed me to say it was sold out and they were refunding my money.
I thought all was lost, until yesterday a package arrived addressed to me. I hadn't ordered anything, so I wasn't sure what I would find inside.
You can imagine my joy when I found a review copy of Pride and Prejudice!!!
It's another counting primer, like Romeo and Juliet. The illustrations are just beautiful and if you are a fan of the original story, then you will love this so much.
The three of us girls sat on the couch (one girl on each side of me) and we read through the entire gorgeous thing. We spent a little extra time on this page picking out which dress we would wear for ourselves....
Juliet claimed #9 right off the bat (she's quick, that one!). I picked #6 for Lucia and then decided on #4 for myself.
I don't have the ipad app, but I've heard that it lets you try the dresses on a paper doll! Eeek.
Now that I've seen both of these, I can say that if you have a friend who loves the classics, she (or he) would love to receive these as a new baby gift. Every page is a delight.
Have you seen these yet? What piece of classic literature would you like to see in a Baby Lit version? I'm holding my breath for Wuthering Heights ....
