five for friday: library book list

January 20, 2012

Here's this week list of books to take to the library with you this weekend!

Big Wolf and Little Wolf by Nadine Brun-Cosme
This book is stunning. And the story is so heart-warming. I love it for Valentines Day (coming up) and for any time of the year when you want to celebrate the friendships in your life.

Willis by James Marshall
Hopefully, you already know and love James Marshall's George and Martha books. This was our first "other" James Marshall experience and we loved it. Another great story about the beauty of friendship.

Goldie and the Three Bears by Diane Stanley
A modern take on the classic tale, Juliet requested this one over and over again. It's about a girl searching for a friend--she finally finds one who is "just right" in baby bear. I love the illustrations in this one, too.

ABC Doctor by Liz Murphy
I discovered this book a week too late for Juliet's 5th doctor birthday party. It would have been perfect. As an ABC book lover, I really enjoyed the illustrations and text.

Blue Moose by Manus Pinkwater
I don't know if your library will have this--we found our copy at goodwill, but it's worth a shot. It's a longer book--we read it in "chapters." I think there are 4 or 5 sections. I think it is intended for kids already reading on their own, but we enjoy a good moose tale, so we picked it up.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Please let me know what you are reading in the comments section so I can look for them this week--I always love hearing your suggestions.

Next Friday, I will have some Valentines picks for you.
