Pinterest is good for a lot of things (mostly wasting my time), but every so often, I stumble across a brilliant idea that I end up using in my home. (This is our playroom, by the way.)
This is the latest. I saw this neon pink washi tape reindeer head on Tea for Joy. I immediately pinned it onto my nursery art board.
But then I got to thinking, "Who needs a nursery? I want this reindeer now!"
So, I rounded up some painter's tape which happens to be a nice festive green. (I have been wanting some washi tape for a long time...anyone want to send me some and see what I can do with it? :) )
I called Juliet over and we set to work.
Somewhere in the middle of the project, she asked if she could make her own. So I stopped and tore off some small and some long pieces of tape for her. I stuck them to the side of the doorway and went back to work on mine.
A few minutes later, I turned around and saw this:
Isn't is awesome? I love how she put her own spin on it. And it was also interesting to see how she went about making it.
I started with the head, and then added the antlers. She started with the antlers and then added a head! So many different ways to get to the same end product!
I love this project because it is simple, cheap, and the possibilities are endless. I also love that a four year old can do this. What a fun way to spend a rainy afternoon--just pull out the tape and make some art!
This project also brought to mind one of my favorite lines from How the Grinch Stole Christmas, "If I can't find a reindeer, I'll make one instead!"
You go, Grinch. Getting all crafty.
