origami books for kids

October 12, 2011

I recently came across these gorgeous origami bouquets from Etsy shop Nikki Cross Applesauce.
Isn't this blue morpho butterfly bouquet just incredible?

It got me thinking about my life-long wish to learn origami and if there were any good kids books that would help Juliet and I tackle the project together.

The ABC's of Origami: Paper Folding for Children looks like a good option, but I'd love to hear your suggestions.

We read Butterflies for Kiri and enjoyed it so much. There are instructions in the back for a butterfly.

Marisa shared this gorgeous butterfly wall with me. She has the perfect selection of paper to get us started.

Have any of you ever tried origami--can a 4-almost-5-year old handle it or should I wait a few more years?
