the best picture books for boys

November 30, 2011

A friend of mine recently asked me for my "best books for boys" picks. As I have two daughters, our picks tend to run on the more girly side. However, I did grow up with two younger brothers, so I do know a little bit about what they are into.

(Let's just say I've logged quite the hours watching episodes of G.I.Joe, Transformers, Go-bots, He-Man, and Mask.)

I started thinking what qualifies as a "boy" book. I realize there are many ways to go with this, but I'm going with this:

When I think of boys, I think of....

Pirates

These are our favorites:
Captain Flinn and the Pirate DinosaursCaptain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs: Missing Treasure!
