how to throw a book-themed birthday party

August 26, 2011

I love a good party and this one is better than good. I stumbled across it via pinterest and had to ask Jessie if I could share this. It's just so amazing.

She threw a book party for her daughter Bella. It's filled with so many creative details. Do you see the mini bunting in the photo above? It's made from book pages. :)

I think these invitations are my favorite detail--she sewed the envelopes from book pages and slipped a library card with the details inside. How fun! My mind is racing with possibilities for these envelopes. Time to bust out the old sewing machine again, I think.
Okay, now these cupcake toppers are my favorite detail. She printed out mini book covers and attached them to the sticks! Her cleverness knows no end.

I see some favorites of ours on there:
Ira Sleeps Over  by Bernard Waber
Madeline by Ludwig Bemelmans
The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton
Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert

(We own all of these!)

So that is not the end of the party or the amazing details--but you'll have to click over to Call Me Badger to see the rest. There's another bookpage garland, a scrabble tile b-day banner, Dr. Seuss treat bags, games, treasure hunts, and more.

Thank you so much, Jessie, for letting me share your party!
