I love decorating with books and finding children's names on book covers is one of my favorite new baby gifts. In the past, I have attempted to make a list of girl's names found in children's books, but this time, I'm going for the boys.

I'm using the top 100 boys names of 2010 as my guide.

It's a big task and while I usually read and heartily endorse every book I share on this blog, this list is different. I'm doing what my mama taught me never to do and choosing these books solely on the COVER.

Basically, I'm looking for children's books with these names on the front cover.

So, if you see your child's name, maybe you'll want to add it to your collection. Just be sure and preview it first to make sure it's appropriate and good for your child to read.

There are a few I could not find--so if you know of any, please help me out by leaving a comment with the title and author!

Thanks, Georgia. :) And Christina, it's good to know it's a good one! I'll have to look for it in our library.

What a great idea! A Koala for Katie is a favorite at our house. It's about a girl who's adopted and our Katie is adopted, so it's a good fit.

Great idea! One of my sons is named Ethan (#2). I found http://www.amazon.com/Ethan-Out-About-Brand-Readers/dp/0763610992/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1305838760&sr=1-2, which my Ethan (age 9) would be too old for. Let me know if you find more!
I also have an Oliver and a Trevor...in case those names come up! ;)

Wendy, thanks for the Ethan book! I do have a WONDERFUL pick for Oliver--it's called "Oliver" by Syd Hoff. One of our very favorites. Gave it to a friend last summer when her little Oliver was born. I"ll keep my eyes open for trevor. :)

wow--thanks, christina! What a good find! Since Jayden is a newer name, I thought it would be really difficult to find a book with it on the cover--thanks for helping me out!

Another David book is David's Father by Robert Munsch. Also by Robert Munsch is Andrew's Loose Tooth (I'm sure Andrew is coming up on the list at some point). Actually, he's got quite a few kids name in the title books. All his books are inspired by kids and so he names the characters after the kids who inspire them so there are a lot of the popular names (though usually ones that have been around a bit longer).
This is a great idea!

oh whoops, Andrew was in this list. Obviously I missed it the first time. :)
