vintage space book and kid's craft

April 21, 2011

Check out the toilet paper tube rocket ship my mother-in-law made with Juliet last month. I think it is so cute. The best toys are the homemade ones, don't you think?

I've been wanting to share this Stars Golden Nature Guide for awhile. Isn't it spectacular? The cover itself is art. I am looking for a way to display it so that the cover faces forward.

It's also filled with these beautiful illustrations of the night sky--these would be beautiful framed as art.
I love the yellow in this one.
This book is so beautifully illustrated that it is interesting to Juliet (age 4) and has been for some time. She loves to just sit and flip through the pages. We don't read it--it's kind of information heavy, but she really loves talking about the pictures.

The Golden Nature Guides are all amazing, I think. Do you own any?

Gorgeous illustrations of the constellations! My son prefers homemade rockets over the store-bought ones.
