st. patrick's day decals

kitchen decals
So, you are probably sick of St. Patrick's Day projects by now, but we've been rather inspired by the shamrock these past few weeks. I hope its okay to share one more with you.
getting started
This one is easy because all you need is some contact paper and a few sharpies. I taped a piece of contact paper down to Juliet's craft table and traced some shamrock outlines for her to decorate.
I told her she could design them however she wanted.
creativity on the loose
She took me up on that offer. I was still able to see the original outline, so I just cut them out and we had some nice modern shamrocks to jazz up our kitchen cabinets.
shamrock decals
Sorry this picture is so dark. They look pretty on the cabinets, though. And they peel off very easily. We have repositioned them a few times.
I love the look of these shamrock leaves in this copy of Thumbelina, so I tried to replicate them...
book-inspired shamrock decals
Not quite as pretty as the original, but it was fun to do. I think I'll have to try this technique out again later and see what else I can come up with.

Have you ever tried making decals with contact paper? What did you make?
