our favorite books this week

March 22, 2011

We hit the motherload at the library again last week and I thought I'd share a few new favorites with you:
Whale
Whale by David Lucas
We've been on a whale kick lately.....here's a link to some more of our favorite whale books and crafts.
Pinduli (ASPCA Henry Bergh Children's Book Awards)
Pinduli by Janell Cannon
There is something special about all the books by this author. You may be familiar with Stellaluna.
StellalunaCrickwing
(Another favorite.) Juliet also enjoyed Crickwing.
A Box Full of Kittens
A Box Full of Kittens by Sonia Manzano
Do you remember Maria from Sesame Street? She's the author of this book. Juliet was mesmerized.
How Rocket Learned to Read
How Rocket Learned to Read by Tad Hills
Very fun--especially if your child is learning how to read as well.

What good books have you read lately?

We love Tad Hills books! We checked out Duck & Goose by Tad Hills, Hunwick's Egg by Mem Fox, and Daisy and the Egg by Jane Simmons - I'm on an egg kick!

Love Tad Hills by the way!

I always love to see what you're reading. I'm always looking for my next art project inspiration. I find so many in children's books. Thanks!

What a lovely selection. The David Lucas is a favourite here - we own copies in both English and Dutch! here's what we did when we first read it:
