I also love making art. And while I would by no means place myself in the same category of a "real" artist, I do love creating and playing with materials in an attempt to make something beautiful.
I think art is good for the soul. Not just for adults, but for kids, too. And I believe even the smallest children can appreciate and enjoy great art--like the stuff-you-find-in-museums great.
I recently learned about Google's Art project via this post at Chalk in My Pocket. You can visit some of the best art museums from around the world and look at all the artwork up close and personal. I love the zoom feature!
I thought I'd share 10 art blogs that really inspire me--there are so many art teachers and artistic people out there--there's no end to the beauty.
The Crafty Crow (I realize that listing this one is like saying, "Hey have you heard of this cool thing called libraries? You can borrow books there for free!" but I have to list it because it is such an amazing collection and also because it's most likely how I found all the rest of these sites...)
Mary Making
Chalk in my Pocket
The Artful Parent
Lovely Design
Pineapple Paintbrush
Pink and Green Mama
Deep Space Sparkle
Frugal Family Fun Blog
Playing by the Book
Painted Paper
What are your favorite art blogs?
I came across this art book list on the Pineapple Paintbrush that got me on the art kick this week. I plan on sharing our favorites with you in the next few days.

Not too long at all! thanks for the list! Can't wait to check these out!
I hadn't heard of any of these blogs. Thanks for the great list.
Thanks for this list! I haven't heard of many of them. I really enjoyed the art book list and put a few of them at hold at my library!
I have been making a list of art related books to put on my blog but I still haven't got around to posting it, I was waiting until the list was a little longer.
We love art at our house.
Jenny--I'm glad you found more than one at your library--I could only find 1...you'll have to tell me what you think of them.
April, I cannot wait to see your list! It's such a great idea for a post. Our list is small too right now, but I"m hoping it will grow.
the crafty crow has been my go-to source for kids craft idea--thanks so much for the new blogs to check out--and i can't wait to check out the google art project, either!
I love the Crafty Crow too. I was so excited when I first discovered that place! It's not quite as well-known as the library...yet.
I'm so flattered Vanessa! I'm glad you enjoy what's going on at my little blog :-) I hadn't heard of quite a few of those and now my blog reader has many happy unread items again!
Thankyou Vanessa for linking to me! I love the Artful Parent (just come from there in fact) and yes of course the Crafty Crow.
Of course, Regina and Zoe--you know I love your blogs. :)
