stop sign party invitations

the invites
Please stop by for Juliet's birthday party!
We finally came up with a police party invitation! Thanks for all the great ideas. My original thought was to make a police car somehow, but that proved to be a little too difficult (couldn't get it to actually look like a car...need more cutting skills!)

our well-loved copy
Officer Flossie is our inspiration for the party (Juliet has asked to be her--I'm still working on the costume.) and she carries around this stop sign all through the book Cars and Trucks and Things That Go (Giant Little Golden Book)

Thank you, Richard Scarry for not making the stop sign an octagon! The circle was easy to trace (used a storage lid) and cut out. (We used red-ish/pink scrapbook paper we already had in our craft supplies.) I hot glued a popsicle stick for the handle and wrote the word "stop" in glue on the front.
Adding a little glitter (or a lot!) was just the right task for Juliet. I wrote the party details on the back (what, where, when, etc.)
delivery day
The best part was delivery day--when we walked around the neighborhood and placed them in her friends' mailboxes.

Now, if I can just get the rest of it together before the big day!

Very creative! great looking party invites. The colors suits the occasion as well, very candy-ish like. Thanks for sharing.
