a picture of lucia

January 5, 2011

runaway dragons: it's what my blog is all about.
I don't post a lot of pictures of me or my kids on this blog because I want it to be about books. If I started posting pictures of my girls, well, you'd probably never hear about another book again because I'd get too carried away.

I'm one of those crazy moms who takes like a million pictures of her kids every month and then posts 500,000 of them on facebook every two weeks. (Yes, one of those people.)

Seriously. You don't want me to post pictures of us.

But...if someone else posts a picture of us, well, then I feel like I should share it with you.

So here you go: here's a picture of me holding my little Lucia.

A little one in her mother's arm is the sweetest picture ever.

Cool that you won a Flip!

You won a camcorder? You lucky girl you!

When I first started my blog, I was planning on making it an informational blog...with links to articles and lots of parenting book reviews but then I decided that it wasn't what I wanted to do (although I love reading those types of blogs!!!). So now each of my posts have multiple pics of my kids. It probably bores any of my readers to tears lol.

Cute picture and lovely name! :) We're due in 10 days and if we have a girl her name will be Lucia also (named after 5 generations of the name in our family). Although, I'm curious how you pronounce your Lucia's name and if you have trouble with others pronouncing it differently?

I love There's No Such Thing As A Dragon, and I adore the name Lucia. I named my only daughter Lucia and it fits so well. We pronounce it Lou-see-uh. How is yours pronounced?

haha--I know, kind of wrong of me to show you a picture of the back of her head. :) But you can still see her cute tiny self!

Yes, I am super excited about winning the flip--can't wait to get it.

I love seeing pictures of other people's kids on other blogs--so I kind of feel bad not showing mine, but my husband feels better about it this way.

So many little lucias out there! We pronounce it Loo-see-uh--the Spanish pronunciation. So far, we've had all three pronunciations used on her at the pediatricians office--loo-sha and loo-chi-ah, but we just tell them how we say it and it is fine. I'm guessing she'll get that her whole life. And Juliet will be getting Romeo jokes. Oh well. I still love the names!

How lovely it is to win something!!! And thanks for sharing the pic!

I think you're right since the name has various pronunciations. We're the dutch pronunciation of loo-sha. At least they are all pretty names so it's okay! :) I love Juliet too!

They all are pretty--it might be kind of fun to have a name you can say three ways. :)
