contact paper valentines

January 26, 2011

snow valentine
Here's a snow valentine alternative (in case you don't have any snow in your back yard right now!) I just cut a heart shape from clear contact paper...
snow flake valentine
I gave Juliet a pile of red and pink snowflakes (from my snowflake punch--love that thing.) and she had fun arranging them on the heart. When she finished, I placed another clear heart on top and we were done!

I'm thinking you could put anything between two pieces of clear contact paper--any sort of shape, tissue paper strips, ribbon, glitter, etc. and it would come out looking beautiful. My favorite part was the no mess factor.
I hung a red string in our kitchen for us to hang our hearts on, hopefully, we fill it up by Feb. 14!

I also discovered 2 other Valentine books in our Valentine box (completely forgot about them!)
Day It Rained Hearts
Day It Rained Hearts by Felicia Bond
I Need A Valentine (Holiday Lift-The-Flap)
I Need A Valentine (Holiday Lift-The-Flap) by Harriet Ziefert
We love these two and have been reading them all week. Have you checked any good Valentine books out from the library (or discovered long lost favorites in your garage)?

I just discovered your lovely blog. I'm just new into blogging & have just finished off my own blog on fashion & interior design.
I had a lot of fun putting it together maybe you would like to check it out if you have a spare minute.
