I'm planning Juliet's birthday party and wondered if you could help me out. She has asked for a "police" birthday party and we've discussed various ideas of how that could look.
Cars and Trucks and Things That Go (Giant Little Golden Book)
For my inspiration, I'm using Officer Flossie from Cars and Trucks and Things that Go by Richard Scarry. (You can kind of see her up in the right hand corner.)
Robert the Rose Horse (Beginner Books(R))
And Robert the Rose Horse  by Joan Heilbroner. These are two favorite books and I like the vintage look of each character.

I've got the food, snacks, drinks, costumes, decor, and favors....just wondering what to do for invitations. Also, I want to have a little book corner (like Amanda did with her son's pirate party), so I was hoping you could give me recommendations for good police themed children's books.

Have any ideas for me? Please leave a comment or link!

Ah yes! The police party! I can't wait! Robert the Rose Horse is the only one I can think of off the top of my head....

I'll have to look around. :)

i love the idea of a book nook for parties! I'm so doing that for Sprites 5th bday in march (sniff sniff my baby is going to be 5! YIKES!)

here are some books that look cute not sure I haven't read them

Police : hurrying! helping! saving! by Hubbell, Patricia.

The police cloud by Niemann, Christoph

Richard Scarry's a day at the police station by Scarry, Richard.

Sherman Crunchley by Numeroff, Laura Joffe.

Policeman Small 1st by Lenski, Lois,

The Officer's Ball by Yee, Wong Herbert.

Officer Buckle and Gloria by Rathmann, Peggy.

and this one is a sesame street about police and fire workers:

Hooray for our heroes! by Albee, Sarah

hope this helps some and can't wait to hear more about the party!

Darn, someone got in with most of my book recommendations.

Maybe a police hat invitation?

What a fun birthday theme!

Uncle Willy is a Busytown Officer in Richard Scarry's Pie Rats Ahoy!

Maybe you could do the invite with sirens or a police badge on the front. You could write out the invite like it's a traffic ticket.
