Amanda's blog recaps and discovered this fun carnival. A sucker for a good recap, I had to join in.
These are the first sentences from the first post of each month of 2010. Let's see what we have here...
(I've added some commentary (designated by the *) underneath each sentence to give it some context.)
These are the books that Juliet and I read and enjoyed together the year she was three years old.
*I needed a way to keep track of all the books we read together, so I decided to make this list. Unfortunately, I sort of quit adding to the list around August when I was 8 months pregnant. It was all I could do to walk up the stairs--keeping an updated list was just not happening.
When I found out that this week Muffin Tin Monday theme was Dr. Seuss, I knew I would have to join in!
*This was a fun one! I love the challenge of making something inspired by a book.
We checked out three amazing books from the library this week.
*Only 3? Must have been a bad week.
My friend Amanda recently recommended Imogene's Antlers by David Small to me.
*This is one of our very favorite books to read now. It also inspired a crazy crafting project in which I tried to fashion a pair of antlers out of cardboard tubes. Let's just say that antlers are best left to those with hooves.
My friend Ana is doing a series of interviews this week in celebration of Mothers.
*I was honored to be a part of this series. Makes me want to do a Mother's Day series of my own this year.
You've seen most of these already (a few are new!), but I like putting my crafts in one place!
*Ah, here are some good crafts! (Way better than the antlers!)
Have you seen these exceptionally cute and exceptionally expensive animal silhouette bookcases from DwellStudio?
*You know how much I love looking at bookshelves--the only thing better is finding out how I can make something myself. Now if I can just figure out how to use a jigsaw...
There are a number of baby books on the market and I've shared my favorites with you in a variety of lists, but in the end, it comes down to preference.
*As I neared the end of my pregnancy, I became newly obsessed with baby books!
Just wanted to let you know that I have a guest post on Impress Your Kids today.
*Here's the story of how Lucia came to us. My little miracle of 2010. Definitely the best part of my year.
Today, the lovely Ana from Live and Enliven shares her 5 books with us!
*I asked several of my blogging friends to write guest posts for me for the month of October. So many people responded and shared a list of 5 books! Thank you again to everyone who contributed and for all the support you gave me. This is my favorite part of blogging--all the friendships that I've made!
Today, Ticia from Adventures in Mommydom is sharing her 5 Books with us:
*So many people sent in posts that I had plenty for November as well! How awesome is that? You guys are the best.
I shared how we made some state-inspired Christmas tree ornaments a few days ago.
*Here's another mod podge craft that turned out to be one of my very favorites of the entire year. I intended to make these as gifts, but loved them so much I kept them all for myself. Next year, I will try to share more.
What a funny list! There is so much that didn't show up like all my nursery posts, my attempt to make favorites lists, and a lot of other stuff that you are probably too tired to read about right now. This is turning into a really long post!
Thanks for the great year and I can't wait to see what's to come in 2011! Happy New Year!
