pumpkin car
Thought I'd share some Halloween-themed images from one of our favorite books: Cars and Trucks and Things That Go  by Richard Scarry.
Cars and Trucks and Things That Go (Giant Little Golden Book)
The copy that we have is a much-loved one that belonged to Ben when he was a little boy. I'm told it was his very favorite book! His 3 other siblings enjoyed the book as well as it is very tattered and torn and pretty much falling apart.

Juliet cannot get enough of it though, so we read it together over and over again. I'm on the lookout for another copy though, as I'm not sure how long this one will hold up!

I love the whimsical vehicles like the pumpkin car and broom-o-cycle. There is so much to look at on every page! I think we may have even found the inspiration point for Juliet's 4th birthday party theme...more on that later!

Here are some fun homemade brooms my mother-in-law made with Juliet a few weeks ago--perfect for a make-believe broom-a-cycle! (Just some pine straw tied to a stick!)

Do you remember your favorite childhood book? What was it?

Happy Halloween! My favorite book was Leo the Lop by Stephen Cosgrove. I just adored that book and still do!

I had forgotten about Richard Scarry books. How my daughter loved them. She had a stuffed Lowly Worm. Thanks for the memory.

I liked Leo the Lop, too! A stuffed Lowly Worm? That sounds like the perfect toy. :)

Hello! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which
blog platform are you using for this website? I'm getting sick and tired of Wordpress because I've had problems with hackers and I'm looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
