The Lovely South African blogger, Georgia, from Love and Lollipops shares her top 5 favorite books for babies and tots today!
What Does Baby Do? and What Does Baby Say? (BEGIN SMART books) make a super baby shower gift. My little one just loved these and I read them to him from birth!
Another favourite for the really little ones is baby einstein Mirror Me! by Julie Aigner-Clark. I also read this one from birth and it too became a real hit! This little book has a mirror on every page, so there’s great fun to be had!
From about age one, Usborne First Words Things that Move is a real winner for little boys!
Every tot should have some Spot Books by Eric Hill. Little Spot board books, such as Spot counts from 1 to 10 and Spot’s Favorite Words are great for little hands.
Maisy the mouse books by Lucy Cousins are another firm favourite in our home, with my tot requesting these simple, easy to understand stories over and over again! We love Maisy makes lemonade, Maisy’s bedtime and Maisy tidies up.
And last, but not least, I just love (and so does my tot) the Priddy books. All these books have bright real-life well photographed pictures, essential for little minds! My little one cannot get enough of these. I especially love the First Words, which has 20 press-out flashcards. So it’s not only a book, but a great first puzzle!
Thank you, Georgia! I love your suggestions and you've gotten me excited about reading baby books again! I'm especially interested in the Begin Smart Books as I have never read them yet.
Juliet loved the Mirror Me book and we love the Usborne books as well. Maisy was such a huge hit with Juliet when she was a toddler, I can't wait to read those again and a few of the ones we have not yet read!
I can't say enough good things about Priddy books, either! Those were my favorite because of the very reason you mentioned: the bright photography!
