My friend Becky is having a baby 3 weeks before Lucia is due. She's also having a girl, so it's extra exciting. Since she is a fellow book lover, I wanted to give her some books to get her daughter's home library started.
Want to know what I picked?
Imogene's Antlers
by David Small
Juliet and I both love this one--especially the surprise ending.
Sam and the Firefly
by P.D. Eastman
A classic that never gets old for us.
A Christmas favorite--the main character is Clara--and my friend's daughter is Cara--so close! I don't have a Cara book yet, but I'm still looking...
Even though it's for babies, Juliet still loves this one and the plastic monkey heads!
We wrapped up the books, added a cute bib, and sent it on its way! I hope she likes the books as much as we do. (These are all books we own as well, by the way.) Which books would you recommend to the new mommy?

My current favorite gift-books are Bunny Days (http://littlepageturners.blogspot.com/2010/03/pipe-cleaner-bunnies.html) and Baby Bear Discovers the World (http://littlepageturners.blogspot.com/2009/12/tis-better-to-give-more-gift-ideas.html). Both are adorable, a little different, and will hopefully become beloved classics.
i'd send a little girl the pinkalicious books and gigi god's little princess
or gender neutral books
karma wilson all the bear books are great.
I love knowing why you picked each book, Vanessa! It was such a fun surprise and I cannot wait to read them to Cara!
I totally remember Imogene's Antlers from when I was little. :)
Aw, Sam and the Firefly! I totally forgot about this book and I used to LOVE it! Thanks for adding it to your list!
What a beautiful gift!
