nursery tour sneak peek

July 14, 2010

I've been busy doing the nesting thing lately and I wanted to share a few pictures from the nursery today. It's still not finished, but it's really, really close!

I do intend to take pictures and write a post about the finished product, but I thought I would share a few bits and pieces with you today.

Storybook-inspired throw pillow--it's Rapunzel! (This is the only pillow cover I've managed to sew yet--still have a few left to go!) Speaking of Rapunzel, did you see Christianne's cute Rapunzel hair bow holder this week?

Pom-pom fringed curtains (I did not make these!)

The book sling! I'm so happy with how it turned out--I promise to do a full post on these soon. They were really easy to do--I made one for Juliet's room, also.

Um...we really don't have enough baby books, do we? I should go shopping.

Book-inspired wall art (a post is coming on this very soon!)

The rug, pouf, and gorgeous Brian Wildsmith Birds book that Juliet "just does not like." Well, I like it. So it's staying.

Tiny clothes hanging in the closet (most of these are Juliet's hand-me-downs!) I feel very prepared with clothing although it remains to be seen if the season difference will foil my preparedness.

 $1.91 Goodwill whale "before" shot

After a coat of white spray paint and the help of some nail polish remover (to get rid of Bryant's name), Baby Beluga is looking sharp!

I won this bib from a giveaway at Little Page Turners a few months ago. It's from Just For Me Sewing's Etsy shop and I LOVE how it turned out!

A bit of required reading for the baby... (shouldn't this be required reading for every child?)

Fun ceiling fan pulls--these make me happy.

The changing table and framed book pages (I posted about these a few weeks ago.)

So, that's it! The project that has been keeping me busy for the past several months. I hope to finish in the next month and post pics of the entire room so you can see it all together.

If you haven't linked a book/craft post to my linky this week, there's still time! Old posts are completely welcome!

Vanessa, it's awesome! I really wish you were closer so you could coach me. We have everything sitting in the middle of the room ... she better not come early!

Becky, that's how it was with Juliet--and she did come early, so this time I'm hyper-prepared-early mom. :) We still had everything sitting there and nothing washed, but it turned out fine and didn't really matter in the end. I'm just having fun with this nursery. :)

So excited to see the whole thing when you are done!! I am having the hardest time coming up with any ideas for our nursery.

It's looking fantastic! I love the pillow (thanks for the shout-out), the book sling turned out great (I swear I'm pushing to move A out of the toddler bed just so I have wall space for one) and I LOVE the bib. Is that whale a frame? Can't wait to see a full-room shot!

The whale is a bank--you drop coins in the top of his head--not sure that we'll use it as a bank, I just got it because I like whales and it was cheap. :)

If you love whales, I just had a tutorial of a story illustrated with fabric on my blog. The girl who did it was a guest poster. It is so adorable..she wrote the story and came up with the fabric illustrations. Here's the link Her story is titled The Little Pink Whale. While you're at my blog, please download free coloring pages for your little girl!

thank you! I got them at Lowes--in their ceiling fan section. They have a variety of decorative pulls. Hope that helps. :)
