painting food

Looks delicious, doesn't it?

Okay, so maybe "delicious" isn't the best word to describe it, but Juliet and her friend Abra sure had fun with this activity!

I saw this idea for food painting from Living Locurto on Skip to My Lou's craft camp. We did a 4th of July color scheme with the red white and blue, but you can make any colors you want with the simple "food paint" recipe. It's just milk and food coloring!

Great idea! I've wanted to get those edible paint pens, but haven't splurged yet. Saw a woman fill a vase with marshmallows painted with little scenes using the pens. Such a cute gift idea!

I like simple ideas. As for Christianne's comment about edible paint pens, I bought a set last summer. Maybe I don't have the skill, but the paint spread on marshmallows. They were great on hard-frosted Christmas cookies. A lot less messy than butter cream piped icing but not as fun.
