concrete bookends

I'm in the process of re-doing Juliet's room and decorating the new baby's nursery. One of the things I'm looking for is a set of bookends to help contain the massive amount of books I have in Juliet's room.

I came across these beautiful concrete bookends via One Pretty Thing and thought I would share them with you.

You can find complete instructions and details on how to make these on Chez Larsson--I'm not sure I have the supplies/skills to do these, but I do love the way they look.

Do you have any good DIY bookend ideas to share with me? Any great stores/sources for cute and inexpensive ones? I'd love to hear your ideas!

bookends, imply your shelves aren't full. I don't think I actually have any shelves in that state right now.

I used to put a small stack of books laying flat to act as a bookend.

I agree with Cassie, these are really cute. When I was in college, I covered bricks with various colored tissue paper using decoupage as a glue. Them made inexpensive bookends, were color coordinated, and were simple for all-thumbs me.

These bookends would have been way too big for us - our shelves are bursting full. My husband built wooden separators for Anna shelves to make it a little easier to get her books in and out, but one of his objectives was to make those separators as thin as possible :)
