It's not so much about the words as it is about getting your baby to enjoy interacting with books! This will look different for every child, but it might involve chewing, waving, throwing, or simple touching the pages. Don't get caught up with HAVING to read the text to your child. Just let him or her decide how she wants to "read" the book.
There will be time enough for reading words later!
Here are some of my favorites. These are perfect baby shower gifts and are one of the key items I like having in preparation for baby because you will use these much earlier than board books!
Fuzzy Bee and Friends (Cloth Books)
This was one of Juliet's first books! I love the touch and feel aspect and engaging images.
Squishy Turtle and Friends (Cloth Books)
Another favorite from Juliet's babyhood.
Cloth Book: Fluffy Chick and Friends (Touch and Feel Cloth Books)
Okay, so I love this entire series, can you tell?
Who Is Peek a Boo Book 6"
This image is small, but it's my favorite cloth book that we own. The images are amazing and I love the interactive elements like the crinkly butterfly wings, and the goldfish that you can put in and out of his fishbowl.
Sleepy Bunny (Pat the Bunny Cloth Book)
I love the paper version
Manhattan Toy Buzzing Through Activity Book
Manhattan Toys has a great series of beautiful and engaging cloth books for babies. I pretty much love them all.
My First Taggies Book: Sweet Dreams
Babies love the little tags on this book. I just found a copy at a baby thrift store for Lucia! I think it will be a great "car seat" book!
What are your favorite cloth books for babies?
