Bible books for babies

May 29, 2010

I had a difficult time finding age-appropriate Bible books for Juliet when she was younger. It seems most of the ones I found were geared towards preschoolers, but I wanted some way to share Bible stories with her before she turned 3.

These are the ones that we enjoyed the most. I found that using the illustrations rather than the printed words worked better for us. I just talked about what we saw and shared the story with her on a level she could understand.

This is a beautiful version with a boy and girl cover. We actually have the boy one (for unknown reasons). It's simple and beautiful.

The illustrations are definitely appealing to younger children. There are a few lines of text on each page, but mostly the pictures tell the story.

We may have enjoyed this one more than the Bible version! The illustrations of the family held particular appeal to Juliet.

This has simple rhyme that is easy for a child to sit and listen to. The illustrations are also engaging enough to stand on their own. There are a lot of flowers in this book and we spent a lot of time talking about the flowers and their different names.

What are your favorite Bible books for babies?
