vintage little women book by louisa may alcott

March 4, 2010

Look at what I found a few weeks ago at a library sale! It's a very old and very decrepit copy of Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. This copy was published in 1904 and it looks like it has seen some use!

I picked it up with dreams of reading from it to Juliet when she is older. It's one of my favorites and I hope that we can enjoy it together one day.

You can see how it is falling apart. We'll have to be gentle with it, but I think we can still get some use out of it.

It's full of these wonderful illustrations.

This cover is my favorite part.

Have you read Little Women? Did you love it as a child?

I love Little Women. I haven't read it in several years, but it is one of my favorites. I love the old copy you bought. How neat.

This is one of my all-time favorites. I actually recently blogged about how it was the first book I stayed up all night to read, when I was in 6th grade. Such a good read. And a beautiful vintage copy.

What a great find! I love that book and can't wait to read all those classics to our kiddos when they get older.

I did and I still have the book I read when I was younger. I wanted to save it just in case I ever had a baby girl. Now I have my baby girl and one day I look forward to passing my childhood book onto her.

Your vintage copy is beautiful.

I read that as a young girl and LOVED it. What a find! I have a vintage (1930s) print of "These Happy Golden Years" by Laura Ingalls Wilder that I treasure.
