book-inspired fun: how to make a tasseled mask

Do you remember me talking about May I Bring a Friend? by Beatrice Shenk de Regniers? We discovered it at the library a few months ago  and fell in love.

I particularly liked this page with the lions wearing party masks and wanted to recreate it somehow.

Here's what I came up with! I bought some plain black masks and a couple yards of trim at the Hobby Lobby. I hot-glued the trip around the outer edges of the masks and voila! We had some masks.

The only thing left was to find a suitable lion friend to join our party! Juliet enjoyed having her party with her masked friend.
