What is more fun that transforming trash into something beautiful? Since my 12 days of Christmas crafting explosion, I have been looking at my recycle box in a whole new way. I have been saving every piece of plastic and packaging and trying to come up with fun ways to use them with Juliet, my exuberant little crafter.
Since it is December, we are really into homemade ornaments for our tree. We've been reading The Night Before Christmas a lot, so we decided to go with a Santa ornament today.

After wrapping all your gifts, I'm sure you have a few of these laying around your house--don't throw them out! I removed the paper label from the tape dispenser and it was ready to be transformed into Santa's sleigh.
Juliet covered the front with glue...
Then she attacked it with glitter. (This is the best part.)

I glued a piece of ribbon to the top and fashioned a loop for hanging. Then Juliet placed a chocolate wrapped santa into the sleigh.
And here he is hanging on our tree! It was easy and fun. The only problem I have now is that Juliet wants to make all our tape dispensers into sleighs...but I'm thinking it will be awhile before we have any more empty ones!

This is too cute! I never would have thought to turn a tape dispenser into Santa's sleigh.
That's so funny, I was just holding an empty tape dispenser yesterday, wondering what it could be turned into!
Such a GREAT idea! It turned out adorable, and glitter is the best. :) Happy Holidays!
