easy guitar christmas tree ornament for preschoolers

I'm on a trash-to-treasure kick and a homemade ornament kick--here's what we came up with today...

We used the packaging from a hole-punch I recently purchased.

Juliet covered the front with glue, covered it with a half-ton of glitter, and then placed felt and yarn on it to create the strings and frets.

I glued a ribbon hanger at the top and after it dried, we hung it on the tree! Juliet has declared it her "favorite ornament ever!" and has asked me if she could take it off the tree and play it. I keep telling her it doesn't really play music, but she still wants to give it a try. I'm thinking I should maybe start looking for a kids guitar for Christmas...
