book contests and giveaways

October 26, 2009

As I was reading other people's blogs today I found some fun book-related stuff that you might be interested in:

Impress You Kids had a link to Cheerios Spoonful of Stories Contest--You can vote for whichever children's book you want to see them include in their box for 2010.

I voted, but I have to admit I have not read any of the choices, yet. I did recognize several author's from their other works--Mem Fox and Karma Wilson are two of our favorites.

Playing by the Book (an awesome blog I just found today) is sponsoring a book giveaway. All you have to do is comment and tell her which book you would like to win. Easy enough. I entered and requested A House is a House for Me by Mary Ann Hoberman because of this post about a gorgeous sari-bedecked, sunflower stalk tipi she made for her kids. It's incredible.

Brimful Curiosities (another amazing blog I just found today) has a list of 19 book giveaways that you can enter (free books are always nice!) She posts a list of book giveaways every Monday and Friday, so check back to her site often if you like giveaways. (Annie, this is for you!)

Have you checked out the tipi yet?!
