100+ books to read with two-year-olds

September 2, 2009

[illustration by Sonia O. Lisker from "The End" by A. A. Milne]

You may have wondered how I choose books for us to read. I really have no method other than to go to the library, stare at the shelves, pull out a book, flip through it, and then pick whatever looks good to me. I know that a library shelf full of books might be intimidating to some people, so I thought I would make a list of the books that we have read and loved. That way, you can choose freely from this list and not have to worry about duds!

The books are listed in alphabetical order according to authors' last names. So, you can print this list out, take it with you, and roam the stacks with a little bit more direction. The * next to some of the titles indicate that we own this book.

These are the books Juliet and I have read together this year. I will be constantly updating it, so check back for an updated version!
