a frog named bee who thinks she's a dragon...

Bee Frog by Martin Waddell, Illustrated by Barbara Firth

Bee frog is a little frog who likes to play games with her brother and sister frogs. She also likes to pretend she is a dragon. One day, after not getting any attention from her parents for her fierce dragon powers, she declares in a huff what has to be one of my very favorite lines from a children's book, "I'm hopping off!...I'm hopping off and not coming back, not ever not never!"

And so she does--hops off into the pond where she revels in her dragon fantasy until she gets a bit lonely. Meanwhile, her parents, who aren't such bad parents after all, come searching for her. Bee hears them coming and keeps very quiet until they are right upon her hiding spot. Then she jumps out and ambushes them.

It's a cute fun book that will be sure to make your child smile.
