Oh! by Kevin Henkes, Illustrated by Laura Dronzek
Probably a better book for december than for may, but we enjoyed looking at the snow anyway. Animals frolicking, children playing and building snowmen and ending with two kids, a dog and a cat staring out the window at the softly falling snow. The only words written on the last page are "oh!" and before I even read it, juliet pointed at the window and said, "Oh!" It's magical.
Activity Idea: Bust out the snow hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves and let your child "play in the snow" inside (especially if it is spring or summer). We did this one day this week and Juliet LOVED it! She loved it so much that she hasn't let me put the gear away yet. She points up to the ceiling and says, "Oh, do you see the snow? Let's get our hats on!" Then she proceeds to hand me a hat and some gloves. She put hers on (i'm not allowed to help her) and we go sledding. Lots of fun.
