Do You Have a Hat? by Eileen Spinelli, Illustrated by Geraldo Valerio
Ben really likes this book. He commented to me earlier this week that all of the books in the batch we brought home from the library last week were duds except this one. It's an interesting book because each page tells a different story about a historical character's hat. Francisco de Goya, with his candle-laden hat, Abe Lincoln and his stovepipe hat, John Chapman (johnny appleseed) and his cooking pot, to name a few. Walt Whitman, Amelia Earhart, and Sally Ride all make appearances in their hats as well.
Juliet is definitely a hat girl, so she answered the repeated question, "Do you have a hat?" with an emphatic, "yes!"
