The Squiggle by Carole Lexa Shaefer, Illustrated by Pierr Morgan
This book is beautiful--it's set in china and has gorgeous illustrations. A little girl finds a "squiggle" on the sidewalk as she is walking with her class. She imagines all the things it could be from a dragon, to the great wall, to the full moon. The book celebrates the power of the imagination. Juliet loved reading it and the other day as we were walking to the park, she found a piece of pampas grass lying on the sidewalk. She cried out, "look! a squiggle!" I looked at her and saw her eyes lit up with excitement. I love seeing her make connections--one of the best things about being a mom.
